Audi Revolut F1® Team

Audi Revolut F1® Team

Audi made its entrance into Formula 1® through the acquisition of the Switzerland-based Sauber Group. Since 1992, the team has been a mainstay in the FIA Formula 1® World Championship, bringing more than 30 years of premier racing heritage to the current Audi Revolut F1® Team. The engineering and development of the race cars take place at the factory in Hinwil, situated roughly 30 kilometers from Zurich, which also functions as the primary base for race operations. The team maintains a tight partnership with Audi Formula Racing (AFR) in Neuburg an der Donau, where the power units are designed. Furthermore, a specialized technology center in Bicester, England, provides the team with access to one of the world's densest hubs of elite motorsport talent and technical knowledge.

The Big Picture

Audi’s strategy for sustainability integrates circular resource management, electrification, and low-emission breakthroughs throughout its vehicle range. Its participation in Formula 1® serves as a catalyst for this mission: the creation of hybrid power units featuring increased electrical capacity and the use of 100% sustainable fuels. This transforms the racing circuit into a high-speed laboratory, allowing for the direct transfer of more efficient and eco-friendly technologies into Audi’s consumer road cars.

Engineering German Power

Established specifically to spearhead the Audi F1® Project, Audi Formula Racing GmbH (AFR) is located in Neuburg an der Donau, in close proximity to Audi’s global headquarters.

The Racing Calendar

A comprehensive 24-race schedule across five continents ensures the sport maintains global visibility and consistent momentum throughout the year. The Formula 1® season features a mix of traditional, permanent tracks and dynamic street circuits, such as those in Las Vegas, Monte Carlo, and the newly introduced Madrid venue. Each race weekend consists of three full days of track activity. While the season originally planned for more, the cancellation of the Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia Grands Prix has adjusted the current calendar to a total of 21 events.
